Core Values for the Culture
Having a culture at a workplace or just in an organization is important — It helps people feel like they belong in a community with shared values between people. Each people will have their own culture that they belong to better and it will improve efficiency along with productivity if their cultures aline. Here are some of the values that I want in my culture.
- Fun — This is something that I think should be part of work. If fun is lacking in culture, people are going to get drained or burnout eventually. By making sure the team knows each other and people are comfortable with each other, It will allow people to have better communication between teammates and increase productivity.
- Integrity — Making sure we are doing the right things is essential. This is something that everyone should have without having to be said but making sure to know and do what is right is important.
- Respect — Respecting others will make sure the team will be successful. It will prevent any unwanted drama or political battle in a company and will improve efficiency.
If there’s a violation in the culture, it would seem like the cultures aren’t lining up well and should find a different team to work in. I think sharing cultures is important to make sure that we all are working towards the same values.
