Barack Obama’s Public Speaking Techniques
Barack Obama is one of the public speakers whom I inspire, and there are several key points that he uses. First is finding common ground between him and listeners. Being able to relate to people it makes the speech more touching and relatable. It makes a more effective speech and can give a strong message. Obama mixes in concrete evidence, storytelling, and antithesis throughout to grab people’s attention and be able to understand his messages and have a stronger feeling about it. By adding the usage of antithesis, he can emphasize ideas and be able to deliver a strong message of unity in his 2004 DNC keynote speech.
With his ability to find common grounds and have several techniques where he can emphasize ideas, he can deliver it more effectively to the listeners like me. The factor of good communication for me can relate and concisely deliver a strong message. The ability to connect with the listener will let them feel like they are on the same page and be able to pay closer attention. It will make it easier for speech to deliver a strong message since they are paying close attention and can trust the person. Barack Obama’s 2004 DNC Keynote speech changed his political career and ultimately brought him to the main stage. His techniques were able to deliver a strong message for people to get persuaded, and there are several ways we can learn from his speech.
